Genetic Structure and Seed Germination of Stipa spp. in Jordan

Dieses Projekt beschäftigt sich mit den folgenden Fragestellungen:1- To evaluate the plant genetic diversity of Stipa grasses in Jordan at the molecular level using DNA-finger printing (RAPD technique).2- To correlate the genetic diversity with the phytogeographical distribution patterns.3- To select the most interesting genotypes such as drought and salinity tolerances, and highly productivity, in order to recommend them for soil regeneration.4- To verify the existence of seed dormancy and to assess seed longevity by observing seed germinability through time.5- To analyze the variation in seed germinability among different Stipa species and among populations within species.
